Audio Design Associates (ada), the brand of excellence in home cinema and custom installed sound brings to CEDIA for the first time ever, the Cinema Reference Mach IV – The One.
New York, NY – September 3, 2012 – Audio Design Associates (ADA), the recognized brand of excellence in high-end home cinema and custom installed electronics, announced that it will be demonstrating the Cinema Reference Mach IV in their own sound room in booth 4141 at CEDIA Expo. The Cinema Reference Mach IV, a finalist for CEDIA Product of the Year, is the world’s only home cinema controller that incorporates ADA’s TEQ Trinnov based room correction and remapping technology.

The Cinema Reference Mach IV is priced at $40,000 and features ADA’s incredible home cinema processing and HDMI 1.4 switching. It is also the only the preamplifier/processor in the world that incorporates a 16-channel TEQ. “It is literally impossible to put into words accurately what our TEQ Trinnov licensed room correction and remapping technology does.” states Richard Stoerger, ADA’s vice president and chief operating officer. “While we are not the only ones in the high-end arena capable of correcting acoustical environments, we are the only ones that can remap the speakers’ positions. This may sound like a marketing pitch but honestly, it is the most incredible technology of our time.” Remapping virtually moves the speakers to the location where they should be located to recreate the environment in which the film or musical performance was mixed. It literally places the listener in the spot where the director, engineer and artists sat as the sound was mixed, be it on a sound-stage or recording studio.
“We bypassed several other well known correction technologies and latched onto Trinnov back in 2005 because we felt these guys truly had the Holy Grail in acoustic optimization.” notes Albert Langella, ADA’s president and chief design engineer. “While other systems get close to or simply attempt to correct a room’s acoustical environment, our TEQ technology places listeners into the film or performance. Having TEQ correction is literally addictive.” For those attending CEDIA, you can get a taste of TEQ room optimization in the ADA Booth (4141) where listeners can see how center channels are remapped into the viewing screen even though they sit below the screen as well as how a room can be spun without moving a speaker. Stewart Film Screens and CEDIA in their New Technology Pavilion will also deploy ADA’s TEQ.
What makes the Cinema Reference Mach IV truly unique is the fact that the combination of technologies in one chassis permits lossless digital audio signals go be channeled directly into the optimization system without D/A and A/D conversion. Stoerger notes, “The Cinema Reference is literally “The One”, the only pre/pro in the world that in an all-digital domain, from HDMI source to output stage, combines ADA’s incredible decoding with ADA’s TEQ Trinnov based room optimization. At $40,000, it might be the most expensive preamp in the world but it is also definitely the most advanced pre/pro in the world.”
