BRT-1 Baud Rate Translator

ADA systems and components typically are set to run at a baud rate of 19,200 baud. This data/control rate is ideal for bi-directional control and feedback of large packets of data (i.e. feedback from HD or satellite tuners, music servers, iPods, etc.). On the other hand, standard IR (40KHz carrier) operates only at 1200 baud. As such, an IR command sent at 1200 baud to a device or system operating at 19,200 baud will not work. In order for this IR command to work it will need to be sped up to 19,200 baud. The BRT-1 translates a 1200 baud control string to 19,200 baud so standard IR remote controls can operate ADA components (i.e. tuners, multi-room preamps, home theater controllers, etc.). Only one BRT-1 is required per ADA system. Suite 7.1 Premium Home Theater Preamplifiers feature a built-in BRT-1. The Control Suite also features a built-in BRT-1.
