MSC-3 Music Server Controller

The MSC-3 is at its heart a translator device. It has both and ADA Bus and RS-232 jack and converts ADA command strings into a format that controls a device or system on the RS-232 port and takes that device's feedback and parses it in such a manner that it can be displayed on ADA keypads and touch screens. The MSC-3 is specifically programmed by ADA to operate with other devices and the suffix letter(s) determine which device it is programmed for. For example, the MSC-3E is designed to interface with music servers by Escient, the MSC-3R is designed for servers by Request, while the MSC-3K is for Kaleidescape servers. There is also an MSC-3LUT for interfacing TS-5000 Touch Screens with Lutron lighting systems. The MSC-3 works with any ADA system and several MSC-3s can be used in one system.
