Tuner Accessories (Antennas, Extenders/Combiners, Splitters)

While HD and satellite radio is great sounding and exciting new technology, suffice it to say it is only exciting if you can get it to play in your home. And there in lies the trick. Specifically for the Tune Suite, Duo and TSS-1, ADA has designed a series of devices that make it possible to locate the antennas (required for reception) in an area or location more ideal than the electronically noisy and often buried location of the main equipment rack. Best of all, ADA's efforts permit you to run both AM antenna, FM antenna, and satellite radio antennas on a single RG-6 coaxial cable from the antenna location to the equipment rack. AML-1 Loop Antenna

The AML-1 is specifically coiled for reception to an ADA AM/FM/WX or HD AM/FM/WX tuner module. It should connect on exactly 6 feet of RG-6 to the AM antenna input on the ACB-1 Active Antenna Combiner.

Satellite Antennas

The XMA-1 and SMA-1 are the XM and Sirius antennas respectively. Each antenna comes with a 16 foot 50 Ohm cable. This cable is connected to the Satellite Antenna input on the ACB-1 Active Antenna Combiner.

ACB-1 and ACB-2 Antenna Combiners

The ACB-1 & ACB-2 are sold together where the ACB-2 powers the ACB-1. The ACB-1 is the antenna combiner that is located near the antennas (AML-1, SMA-1 or XMA-1 and FM antenna). It combines all three antenna signals onto one standard RG6 coaxial cable that can be run up to 140 feet to the system mainframe into the ACB-2. The ACB-2 outputs AM & FM onto one coax F type connector and satellite radio onto one 50 Ohm connector. If you are using more than one AM/FM tuner and/or Satellite Tuner, you will need the appropriate antenna splitters (AAS-4 for AM/FM, SATLS-4 for XM or Sirius).

AAS-4 and SATLS-4-50 Antenna Splitters

These can be used in conjunction with the ACB-1 and ACB-2 when two, three or four of the same module are used.

SATLS-4-50 splits the 50-ohm Satellite Radio output from the ACB-2 into four 50-ohm Satellite Radio outputs

SATLA-1 and SATC-75 or SATLS-4

The SATLA-1 is a line amplifier for just satellite radio and has an input from either the XMA-1 or SMA-1 satellite antennas. Its output is a standard RG6 F type connector that can run 120 feet to either the SATC-75 or SATLS-4. If you only have one satellite radio module, use the SATC-75. If you have more than one satellite radio module, use the SATLS-4 that can drive up to four satellite tuners. Please note, that the SATLS-4 will not work with just one satellite tuner as it is the tuner that powers the satellite extenders/splitters and one tuner module provides enough power for the SATC-75 but it will not provide enough power for the SATLS-4.
